Global search is available on every page in Chronosphere Observability Platform. Use it to find resources such as dashboards, monitors, services, SLOs, teams, and collections by name. When you want to describe what you’re looking for rather than name it exactly, you can also open the Assistant from the global search. To open global search, use one of these methods:
  • Click Search in the page header.
  • Press Control+K (Command+K on macOS) from any page.
Global search opens as a centered modal dialog that displays the search field and your recently visited resources.

Search for a resource

To search for a resource:
  1. Open global search.
  2. Begin typing a resource name. Results appear as you type.
  3. Click a result to open it, or use the arrow keys to highlight a result and press Enter (Return on macOS) to open it.
Each result displays the resource’s:
  • Type, such as Dashboard or Monitor
  • Name
  • Primary owner, if it has one
The results list any resources that you’ve marked as favorites first.

Filter results by type

By default, global search returns all supported resource types. To narrow results to a specific type, click a filter at the top of the search results. Available filters include Dashboards, Monitors, Services, SLOs, Pages, Teams, and Collections. To clear an active filter, click it.

View recently visited resources

When you open global search without typing anything, it displays resources you’ve recently visited in Observability Platform. This list includes any entity that global search handles, including results you selected from previous searches and resources that you navigated to directly. To narrow the list of recently visited resources to a specific resource type, click a filter at the top of the list. To describe what you need using natural language instead of the resource’s name, use the Ask Assistant button in the search field to open the Assistant with your search text as the prompt. Alternatively, if your search returns no results, press Enter (Return on macOS) to send your search text to the Assistant directly.
