| Term | Description |

| Core Instance | An installation of Calyptia Core on a virtual machine, a bare-metal server, your laptop, or a Kubernetes cluster. |
| Pipeline | A highly scalable, auto-healing, and a configured entity managed by Calyptia Core that has a source, processing, and destination. |
| Secret | An object that contains sensitive data such as a password, a token, or a key. |
| Actions | A base unit of transformation for processing rules. This can include "Add", "Remove", or other transformations. |
| Processing Rules | A set of actions that are part of a pipeline. |
| Source | Where data originates from or is being collected from. |
| Destination | Where data is being sent or delivered to. |
